Final Artist’s Open Studio
With bittersweet sentiment, I find myself reflecting on the past fifteen years of opening my studio doors twice a year to welcome visitors through Nillumbik Artist’s Open Studios That’s thirty Open Studio events!
This journey has been an incredible one — filled with meaningful exchanges, heartfelt conversations, and the deep honour of watching my paintings find their new homes. These weekends have carried a beautiful rhythm of connection: artists and art-lovers gathering within my round, nurturing creative space, nestled in the red box forest. Surrounded by the scent of paint and eucalypts, stories are shared, inspiration flows, and a sense of stillness and belonging seems to settle gently in the air.
However, as time has unfolded, I’ve found the preparation and energy that goes into transforming my working studio — cleaning, rearranging, and presenting — increasingly competing with the time I need to devote to my true loves: painting, and running my Art Therapy sessions and creative groups.
And so, with both sadness and gratitude, I’ve decided that the upcoming November Open Studios will be my last. 😢
I first joined Open Studios as an artist in residence at Dunmoochin (2010–2012), then hosted one event in my parents’ gorgeous (and muddy!) home while my new studio was being built. From there, I began opening the doors to my purpose-built studio in Panton Hill, where so many of you have since visited.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has stepped inside over the years. The number of visitors through my doors tallies into the thousands — each one contributing to the tapestry of conversation, inspiration, and shared creative spirit. I’m so deeply grateful for every kind word, every moment of resonance, and for the joy of seeing my work find its way into so many homes and hearts.
Who knows what lies ahead… but if you’ve ever thought about visiting, this is your chance!
Open Studio Weekends
🗓️ Saturday & Sunday, 15–16 November
🗓️ Saturday & Sunday, 22–23 November

Looking ahead, I’m excited to spend more time immersed in my studio practice, creating new work for upcoming exhibitions. While I’ll no longer be part of the official Open Studios program, I warmly welcome studio visits by appointment — for those who wish to continue sharing in this creative journey.
To mark this transition, I’ve created a short video — a small journey down memory lane — celebrating these fifteen beautiful years of participation in this wonderful program.
